I’m Chakay Smith, Founder and Owner of The Bar Aesthetics – Micropigmentation, a Licensed Cosmetologist, Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) Specialist, Brow Professional, and Expert Lash Artist. My work is rooted in precision, artistry, and delivering refined, natural-looking results.

Born and raised in Richmond, California, I returned to the beauty industry in 2013 after a successful career as a police officer and business owner. I began as a Lash Artist, expanded into Permanent Makeup in 2016 with a focus on luxury brows, and entered the SMP industry in 2018—becoming the first African American female SMP artist in the Bay Area.

I am deeply passionate about restoring confidence through non-surgical hair loss solutions and advanced aesthetic services. Known for my attention to detail and client-centered approach, I am committed to ongoing education and staying at the forefront of industry advancements.

In 2018, I founded The Bar Aesthetics as a modern, elevated space grounded in excellence, integrity, and education. Today, I am also an International Speaker and SMP Educator, dedicated to training students with intention and ensuring they are equipped for long-term success.

Additional services include The Bar Head Spa Treatments, Permanent Brows, and Eyelash Extensions—each designed to provide a luxury, results-driven experience.

Esthetician, Micaela Mouton, “Mica” (me.ka) for short, loves to use her talents & passions to help people feel & look their very best. In 2014, she created Mea Beauty. “Mea” is the Latin word for my, belonging to me. Mica wanted to give her clients a comfortable and cozy beauty space where you can spend that much needed “me time”.

While earning her degree in Fine Arts -Painting/Drawing, Mica started working in the beauty industry as a Makeup Artist in 2007. My name is Sydney Robinson or you may know me as “Freckles”. I am a licensed aesthetician and have been lashing for the past 3 years. I lost my mother 2 years ago which has pushed to me to reach for my dreams in the beauty industry. I am passionate about my work, I love what I do.
